Cyprus’s authorities obliged children from six years old and older to test for coronavirus every week. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the country’s Ministry of Health.
Cyprus Health Minister Mikalis Hadgipallas indicated that children would also have masks in schools and public places. “Only through cooperation and individual responsibility we will be able to overcome the threat of a virus and save Christmas without adopting additional measures,” he stressed.
Earlier, director of the European Bureau of the World Health Organization (WHO) Hans Klagan predicted the death of half a million people in Europe because of COVID-19. He stressed that the next coronavirus wave in Europe is observed due to the approach of cold weather, low vaccination indicators in a number of countries and the appearance of more infectious strains.
