WHO assessed ability of existing PCR tests to recognize new strain COVID-19

The World Health Organization estimated the ability of existing PCR tests to recognize the new strain of Coronavirus SARS-COV-2, writes RIA Novosti.

It is noted that PCR tests are recognized by the recently discovered variant of coronavirus B.1.1.529.

The first reports of infection with a new strain in South Africa, Botswana and Hong Kong appeared on November 24. Later, the news on the discovery of the next version of the evolution of COVID-19 appeared in Israel and Belgium.
