The North Stream-2 gas pipeline under certain circumstances can start working, without waiting for the completion of the certification process, writes the German newspaper HandelsBlatt.
The authors of the article pointed out examples in the past when pipelines were commissioned before they were certified. We are talking about projects NEL and EGL 401. According to calculations of the German Federal Network Agency (BNA), in this case, the penalty is not more than one million euros.
“This amount looks acceptable. Investments in the construction of” Northern Flow-2 “are equal to at least ten billion euros,” the authors of the publication said. They believe such a scenario may seem the “tempting” operator with high prices for gas.
