Moldova redeemed a debt to Gazprom in the amount of $ 74 million after an ultimatum from the Russian company. This was reported by the press service “Moldovagaza”.
In the energy company, they stated that Gazprom was transferred for gas, delivered in October and the first half of November 2021. On the eve, on November 25, the Moldova Parliament urgently approved the transfer of money to the Russian supplier. The legislation amendments were adopted after the Prime Minister of the Republic of Natalia Gavrilitsa asked for this.
“Moldovagaz” could not find a commercial decision to pay for debt, which is why the government assisted. The company did not have money, as she purchased gas at a price of 790 dollars per thousand cubic meters, and the tariff was laid much lower. It is assumed that since November the tariff will be elevated.
