“Pyaterochka” and “Magnit” obliged to reduce food prices

The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for the Kursk Region revealed cases of overstaving food prices in the stores of Pyaterochka retail chains and magnets in several municipal regions of the region. This is stated on the official website of the department.

In the course of the inspection, FAS staff found that in those municipalities, where one of the networks occupied the dominant position, the cost of products, in particular, chickens, oil, eggs, potatoes, cabbage, onions, carrots, flour, rice and millet, Was higher than in stores in Kursk. Violations revealed in seven districts.

Agency ordered trading networks to stop unreasonable overestimation of retail prices and reduce them within 10 days. The FAS noted that they keep the situation on a special control.

At the end of September, similar claims to the “Pyaterochka” and “Magnit” arose at the FAS in the Moscow region. The agency revealed a 10 percent excess of the cost of flour, bread, chicken and pork due to the dominant position of networks. In early October, stores reported to reduce food prices.
