The European Union (EU) adopted the fifth package of sanctions against Belarus due to the situation with migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border. This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the EU Council.
It says that the European Union Council approved the next package of individual prohibitive measures against individuals and legal entities “in connection with the hybrid actions of Belarus to instrumentalize migrants to give pressure on the European Union State.” Sanctions will take effect from the moment of publication in the official EU magazine later on Thursday, December 2.
The sanction list includes more than 20 individuals and legal entities. It is already known that the chairman of the State Border Committee (Code of Civil Procedure) of Belarus Anatoly Lapor, the head of the Grodno borderner of Konstantin Morazov, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Anatoly Eyes and the head of the television channel Onty Marat Markov Markov. Among the companies in the list were the airline “Belavia”, the Travel agency “Center Resort”, as well as the enterprises of Grodno Nitrogen and Belarusneft.
