Work overload, sense loss, Burn-out risk: It goes wrong to France Bleu, the regional network of Radio France with 44 stations in France. This is the conclusion of an expertise carried out by ISAST, a consulting firm mandated by the unions and whose conclusions were officially presented on the occasion of an Extraordinary CSE on the 1 ER December to The President of Radio France, Siby 60 Veil.
Following a questionnaire transmitted to 1,847 employees (freelancers included), and after sixty individual interviews, the report of the experts points to the finger a “overload of work”, cause “many malfunctions”. Thus, “56% of journalists regularly work more than 42 hours per week”, including 29% more than 50 hours a week, according to the report to which Le Monde had access. Similarly, “54% of the intermediate framework regularly work between 42 hours and more than 50 hours a week”.
A “feeling of abandonment”
At the heart of the problem, the number of missions has increased in recent years, while at the same time, the workforce remained stable. “We gave the local news into the newspapers: we went from a newspaper per hour to two, but with the same number of journalists, explains Matthieu Darriet, of the SNJ. We also do web items in connection with the reports except two or three reports per day. “
Among “the indisputable finding elements”, the cabinet notes that “Internet feeding strongly impacts working times”, while the “workforce and means [are] insufficient”. It also emphasizes “work situations that could be similar to moral harassment, and detects a” feeling of abandonment and loss of strong sense “.
In the direction of Radio France, we take the report seriously. “France Bleu undergoes a crisis of growth. Until 2018, savings have focused on the network. Since then, they have been sanctuarized,” recognizes a high executive of the radio group, which admits that “teams have made digital developments. equal workforce “. A Radio France, we like to boast the performance of France Bleu, the “Third Radio de France”, and its progression on digital (+ 74% in one year, as specified in the annual report of 2020).
Using the expertise, Sibyl Veil asked his Director of Human Resources to find solutions as quickly as possible to the most problematic individual situations. In parallel, she will launch an “organizational audit” in January, to provide answers at the latest in September, in September 2022. “Should we need new computer tools, exchange more content to relieve employees?” , we ask the direction. On the other hand, an option is not considered: that of recruiting France Bleu, which weighs one third of the group’s total workforce. Radio France continues the savings plan of 60 million euros on a budget of 660 million euros on the horizon 2022.
