A blame for Professor Raoult. The Council of the Order of New Aquitaine sanctioned Friday, 3 December the Marseille microbiologist, targeted since the end of the year 2020 by two complaints of the National Order of Physicians and the Departmental Order of Bouches-du-Rhône . The elements that motivated this symbolic sanction, the second in order of importance after the simple warning, will be made officially publicly by the ordinal judges as Tuesday, December 7th. It is not yet known whether the boss of the Hospital-University Institute in Infectious Diseases (IHU) Mediterranean Marseille Infection is sanctioned for prescribing a protocol based on hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of COVID-19 or for its methods of communication .

On November 5, Didier Raoult had moved himself in person in Bordeaux to deal with his peers. The hearing, led by a magistrate accompanied by eight doctors, had been relocated to Gironde to escape the Marseille microcosm where the frontal methods of the controversial director of the IHU, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and President of the University, generate both indefectible supports and stubborn inimities.

At the end of 2020, throughout the territory, many practitioners complained to their bodies to be harassed by patients claiming, sometimes with brutality, to be treated with hydroxychloroquine, the molecule touted by Professor Raoult and his teams. Reports that pushed the departmental order of Bouches-du-Rhône, then the national order, to seize the file. Didier Raoult was thus accused of having broken several articles of the code of ethics and answered facts of “charlatanism” for prescribing his protocol “without established scientific data”, and “failures to his confraternity duties”.

“Success of success”

At the hearing, his lawyer, the very media Fabrice di Vizio, denounced a trial brought because of the criticisms made by the microbiologist on the management of the CVIV-19 crisis by the health authorities. Didier Raoult has seen the “trial of success”, always feeling, despite the absence of scientific evidence, that his protocol is effective against coronavirus. In front of the ordinal chamber, the public rapporteur recalled that several international randomized studies had concluded the opposite. “It is the doctors who complain about us, not the patients,” inspected, in response the boss of the IHU, claiming to have received “600,000 people” within his Marseille structure since the beginning of the pandemic. Philippe Carlini, a lawyer of the Order of Doctors Bouches-du-Rhône, considered him, on the other hand, that the prosecutions had been triggered to support “heroic liberal doctors”.
