Press Secretary of the Governor of the Sakhalin Region Svetlana Litvinova revealed the details of the lease of the island on Kurilich by the company from Denmark. She told about the desire of Copenhagen Offshore Partners to rent only part of Schashny, writes RBC.
Litvinova confirmed that the Danish company wants to implement a hydrogen production project to be implemented using wind energy.
“But in no case we are not talking about renting under this whole island. The issue of using only part of the land for the implementation of the project is considered. The museum is also planned to create a museum,” she stressed.
Press secretary of Sakhalin’s head added that the parties are now discussing the hydrogen project. “To go to some specific actions, you need to go through a number of procedures about the possibilities of using the land plot, to obtain data on wind characteristics, the presence of the required volume of water,” she explained.
Previously, the Sakhalin Governor Valery Limarenko told about the plans of the Danish company to rent an island on Kurilla. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is engaged in investments in renewable energy sources and is going to produce hydrogen on the island using wind energy. “This does not mean that the project will accurately take place, but there are serious negotiations, and I report this to the leadership of the country,” Limarenko stressed.
