Germany: declared agreements with US threat of “Northern Flow-2”

German newspaper HandelsBlatt called agreements between Germany and the United States to the threat to German-Russian agreements. In particular, negative consequences can touch the North Stream-2 project.

“Until now, the White House tried to put pressure without affecting German partners. However, warning to Berlin sounds quite frankly,” the publication says. According to the author, there are three factors affecting the fate of the gas pipeline.

First, in Germany there are concerns of the breaking of relations with the United States due to disputes around the “Northern Flow-2”. Also, the article provides concerns about the ability of the new Government of Germany to keep the White House from the introduction of new sanctions. The author calls the scandal because of the movement of Russian troops at the borders with European countries.

At the same time, the author reminds that the Kremlin has repeatedly stated his right to place army parts at any point within the boundaries of Russia, as well as the safety of such maneuvers for other countries. The author is sure that winter frosts will make Berlin look in a new one to look at the transatlantic partnership with Washington.

December 1 became known that members of the Democratic Party of the US Congress Senate agreed to consider a package of amendments to the country’s defense budget project, which implies sanctions for participating in the North Stream-2 gas pipeline certification.
