German browser Nikolas Bussse (Nikolas Busse) said that the North Stream-2 gas pipeline became a strategic mistake in Germany, while Russia laid down “mine” under the stability and safety of Europe. This was written in the column for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ)
in his opinion, the pipeline has never been a “non-political project.”
“American senators and other partners in Germany does not please that Germany receives additional income through cooperation with a country that constantly puts mines under the stability and security of Europe,” – wrote Busse.
In early December, Democrats of the US Congress Senate agreed to consider a package of amendments to the country’s defense budget project for the current fiscal year, which involves the imposition of sanctions for participation in the North Stream-2 gas pipeline certification.
November 16, Germany suspended the certification of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. Sources in the German government noted that the launch of the gas pipeline may be postponed until March 2022 due to certification problems. The construction of the gas pipeline was completed on September 10. According to the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller, on September 6, the construction operator “Northern Flow-2” Nord Stream 2 AG informed about the welding of the last pipe in the Baltic Sea.
