Member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council (CS) of the Belarusian opposition Maria Kolesnikov refused to ask for pardon. She stated this in an interview with DW.
“Any pressure has the opposite effect. Naturally, no requests for pardon can not be speech. After all, I, as Maxim sign and all political prisoners, innocent. You can not confess what I did not commit,” said Kolesnikov.
She noted that the authorities of Belarus lead the country to nowhere. “It is important to all look for a way out of a dangerous peak together and now think about solving the tasks for the future,” the opposition announced.
To the question, which can get President Alexander Lukashenko to leave his post, Kolesnikova replied: “The situation is very complicated, and we have already lost more than a year. I really want to believe that common sense, finally wins. Care will happen, this is a matter of time and the price that Belarusians will pay for it. “
She said, there are strength to power, “ready for constructive solutions, to the negotiations on getting out of the peak.”
In September, members of the Presidium of CS Maria Kolesnikov and Maxim Sign received 11 and 10 years in prison, respectively, on charges of conspiracy in order to capture the authorities and creating an extremist formation.
In 2020, Kolesnikova headed the EX-Head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babarico, who was considered the main rival Alexander Lukashenko in the elections of the head of state. Two months before the vote, Babarico was arrested.
