In Russia, pork fell in price, the National Union of Pigovodov (NSS) recorded the fall in prices against the background of the growth of meat production and reduced demand. This is reported by Kommersant.
So, the cost of one kilogram of a living pig has decreased to 96.8 rubles, half of the carcasses – up to 146.46 rubles. This is lower than 2020. It is expected to further reduce the cost in 2022.
CEO of the NSS Yury Kovalev noted that after the end of the season, the demand for the pork fell, and in the fourth quarter an increase in the sentence began to put pressure on the market. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the pork production has increased by 0.9 percent in January-October.
The price reduction confirmed the largest producer, the agro-industrial holding “Miratorg”. Due to the fact that the proposal exceeds the demand, prices for cuts in the near quarter can lose another 15-20 percent in the price. Currently, in wholesale trade of hammer costs 225 rubles per kilogram, a blade – 215 rubles.
Head of the National Meat Association Sergey Yushin added that the price of pork for some manufacturers fell below the cost. He suggested an increase in prices before the New Year holidays, but at the beginning of 2022 predicted the market a new decline.
According to NSS forecasts, in 2022, average pork prices will be devastated below the current year indicators. The situation with the cheapestness of this type of meat is confirmed in the Ministry of Agriculture.
