The member of the Deux-Sèvres Delphine Batho, ancient rival during the primary of ecologists, was appointed Sunday, December 5 spokesman for the Candidate Campaign Europe Ecology-Les Greens (EELV) to the Presidential Yannick Jadot, A announced his campaign director Mounir Satouri.
It replaces the previous spokesperson, Matthieu Orphan, a close to former Minister Nicolas Hulot accused of rape and sexual assault, who had been put “upstream of his responsibilities” on November 27th.
The former Minister of Ecology under François Hollande “Coordinate the spokesperson team”, said Satouri, alongside Mélissa Camara, Municipal Councilor in Lille, Hubert Julien-Laferrière, Member of Parliament for the 2 e riding of the Rhone, Benjamin Lucas, Regional Councilor of Hauts-de-France, Sabrina Sebaihi, Assistant to Mayor of Ivry-sur-Seine, Marine Tondelier, Regional Councilor of Hauts-de-France , and Mélanie Vogel, senator representing the French abroad.
Matthieu Orphan feels “Sali”
Arrival in the third position of the first round with 22.32% of the votes, the member Delphine Batho, holding the “decay”, had failed to qualify, just like the mayor of Grenoble Eric Piolle (22.29%) and the entrepreneur Jean-Marc Governatori (2.35%).
The setting up by Mr Orphelin had, according to the EELV leaders, allow the former spokesman to freely lead his communication, and to prevent the Yannick Jadot campaign being disturbed.
But this decision caused an in-house weapon pass between the direction of EELV and Matthieu Orphan, who said he was “Sali” and had put this relief on the account of strategic differences with the candidate.
