US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin denied the idea of creating an anti-Chinese version of NATO in Asia. He stated this on the forum organized by the Ronald Reagan Presidential Fund, reports TASS.
According to him, the United States proceeds from the fact that in a state of peace and war they are always stronger when they work with their friends. He noted that Washington is not trying to create an anti-Chinese coalition or an analogue of NATO in Asia. The head of the Pentagon also stressed that the US administration does not ask Asian states to choose between the United States and China.
Previously, Austin called China with a constant call for the United States. The head of the Pentagon stated that Washington was ready to support the possibilities of other countries to contain Beijing. According to him, the tests of hypersonic weapons, which this year held the Chinese military reinforce tensions in the Asia-Pacific region.
