President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko dismissed the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidia Yermoshin. About it reports BelTA.
Reasons for resignation are not called.
The head of the CEC will change for the first time in 25 years. The Commission will be headed by Igor Karpenko. In addition, Lukashenko appointed five new members of the CEC.
The resignation of Yermoshina occurred on the eve of the constitutional referendum, which is expected in February 2022.
Lydia Yermoshina was chased by the CEC Belarus since 1996. Belarusian opposition and international organizations believe that the results of the elections and referendums are constantly falsified in the republic, and their procedure is violated.
