German Foreign Minister Annalen Berbok explained his words about the inconsistency of the Russian gas pipeline “Northern Stream-2” standards of the European Union and clarified that he had due to the decision of the EU regulator made back in November. It is reported by the newspaper “Izvestia”.
According to the minister, the Federal Network Agency (German regulator) suspended the certification of the pipeline, since before the project, it is necessary to create a legal separation between the owner of the Northern Flow-2, the operator and the energy supplier.
Previously, Berbble explained that the new ruling coalition in the Federal Republic of Germany agreed that the projects like “Northern Flow-2” must comply with European energy legislation. She noted that in the process of certification of the gas pipeline, the leading role was given to the norms of the European Union (EU).
