A meeting of intergrockers of Russia and Kazakhstan was held on Baikonur complex

The seventh meeting of the Russian-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission on the Baikonur complex chaired by Vice-Chairmen of the Governments of Russia and Kazakhstan, respectively, Yuri Borisov and Roman Schlara, held in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan) on December 13, 2021.

The event was also attended by General Director of Roskosmos State Corporation Dmitry Rogozin. During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation on Baikonur and in general in the space sphere was considered, first of all, the issue of implementing a joint project “Baiterek”.

Parties noted that work on it is carried out in accordance with the agreements achieved earlier and the contract concluded. During the meeting, the order of further joint practical actions to continue the project implementation was agreed.

“It is extremely important for us to see the light at the end of the tunnel, this light is the implementation of the Baiterek program to implement the launching of the Soyuz-5 carrier missile from the Baikonur cosmodrome. Basic documents are agreed, the appearance of the rocket and space complex, the rocket itself It is in the stage of terrestrial static and dynamic tests. This complex will be ready for the start of flight trials from December 2023, “said Dmitry Rogozin.

He also recalled that directly construction work will begin on the “Baiterek” complex in March 2022 and will have to end, according to the plans, 3-4 months before the start of flight tests of the rocket.

Special attention during the meeting of the intergrowth was paid to the issue of conclusion from the rental, write-off and disposal of unused facilities of the Baikonur complex, issues in the field of education, as well as social issues of the city of Baikonur.
