Diane Leyre, Miss Ile-de-France, was elected Miss France 2022 on the night of Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 December, after a contest organized in Caen and retransmitted on TF1.

This 24-year-old international trade graduate, who works in real estate development, was chosen from 29 miss regional. His first dauphine is Miss Martinique and his second Dauphine Miss Alsace. She succeeds Amandine Petit, Miss Normandie, who had been elected Miss France 2021 in December 2020.

The jury of this year, chaired by the former presenter of the Television Journal Jean-Pierre Pernaut, brought together the singer Amel Bent and François Alu, the first dancer of the Paris Opera. Miss finalists have been separated at 50/50 by TF1 viewers and the jury.

“Exceeded Rules”

“I like the contest of Miss France (…) This is a fun, glamorous competition,” said Friday, the Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot on BFMTV. “We need a little lightness” and these young women “are far from being potiches,” said the minister.

This contest for single women with a minimum size of 1M70, however, is the subject of a growing number of criticism. The Minister of Equality between women and men Elisabeth Moreno, has lamented on Friday, “outdated (…) rules that can be discriminating”. M me Moreno regretted that for example a “widow woman or a woman who is already mother can not apply.” In October already, the minister qualified the rules of the competition of “Completely Has Been”.

“Why a Miss France could not do irony, could not be mom or put bare breasts to fight cancer?” She had questioned it.

But M me Moreno has since received at the Ministry of Alexia Laroche-Joubert, the president of the company Miss France, a subsidiary of the Endemol production company. And it is now “almost certain” that the rules “will evolve”.

M me Since then, during the presentation of the contest 2022, that candidates would be paid for the first time for the final but not for rehearsals. “There are criteria to evolve to adapt at the time (…). I think surely the status of single is obsolete,” she also admitted.

Geneviève de Fontenay “Very shocked”

The participation of transgender persons is “possible” and “is part of the discussions” with M me Laroche-Joubert, has also assured M me Moreno, Saturday , on Europe 1.

This “possibility” leap Geneviève de Fontenay, 89, who slammed the door of the contest for divergence of view a decade ago. The iconic “Miss des Miss” was “very shocked” in a statement.

For the minister, however, the competition deserves support because “it has been a way for many women to emancipate”. But he continues to anger. The main opposition group (Municipal EELV-PCF-DVG) in Caen broke out early December that the Mayor the Repubicans (LR) does not communicate its cost to the city. According to the Municipal Councilor EELV Rudy the Orphan, the contest, already organized in Caen, had “cost 200 000 euros” in 2010 to the city.

“With regard to the profits in the organizing company, it is necessary to question” on a “public financial support” to this event, said this opposition group in a statement. And the elected officials to “congratulate legal actions” by daring for feminism!.

The Bobigny Prud’hommes Council must address 21 June on the procedure launched by the association which accuses the competition of violation of labor law.
