Former Yannick Agnel Olympic swimming champion was indicted for “rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old”, “Mulhouse’s prosecutor reported at the France-Presse agency on Saturday 11 December. It has been placed under judicial review, despite the requisitions of detention in pre-trial detention formulated by the prosecutor’s office and the investigating judge, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Mulhouse, Edwige Roux-Morizot.

Yannick Agnel had been arrested Thursday at the end of the morning in Paris and placed in custody in Mulhouse, on a rogatory commission. The Prosecutor then explained that a complaint had been filed last summer for facts going back to “approximately 2016”. Asked by AFP Friday, the Prosecutor did not wish to provide information on the identity of the victim.
