Russia will be upset due to the acquisition of Finland in the US fifth generation fighters F-35A Lightning II, says American edition 19FortyFive.
The publication states that a potential deal that should be approved by Washington, “puts more fighters of the fifth generation on the threshold of Russia, which will surely upset Moscow.”
The publication writes that the agreement provides, in particular, ensuring conditions for sustainable maintenance and assembly of individual components of the aircraft within the Finnish itself. “The fact that Finns insisted at this point, also shows their concern that in a potential conflict, they will fight alone, as well as during the winter war against the Soviet Union in 1939,” 19FortyFive writes.
In December, the Finnish government officially announced the intention to buy 64 units of 64 aircraft F-35A Lightning II modifications BLOCK 4.
