American Space Probe Parker Solar Probe for the first time “touched” the Sun. This is reported on the site NASA.
The device flew through the crown of the Sun and took from there samples of particles and carried out measurements of magnetic fields. According to the Deputy Director of NASA on scientific matters, Thomas Zurbuchen, this is “a sign moment for studying the Sun and truly remarkable achievement.” It is noted that touching the substance from which the sun consists will help reveal important information about it and its influence on the solar system.
The probe was launched in August 2018 from a cosmodrome at Cape Canaveral (Florida). At the end of October of the same year, he broke the record of the approach to the Sun, established by the Helios Helios Helios 2 in 1976.
Earlier, astronomers watched, like the Sun-like star EK Draconis made a massive burst of energy, which exceeds everything that was fixed in the solar system. The emission of the coronal mass of such force can make a catastrophic damage to satellites in orbit and power grids on Earth.
