Vacuum Tests of Freightstock “Progress MS-19” began on Baikonur

In the installation and test case of the site No. 254 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, finish preparation of the MS-19 Progress Cargo Ship is continuing. Today, December 15, 2021, the technical complex was transported by the ship in a vacuum chamber for testing for tightness.

Through the past week, the specialists of the Rocket and Space Corporation “Energy” named after S.P. The Queen (part of the state corporation “Roscosmos”) and profile enterprises of Roscosmos made a series of integrated tests of the ship to check the readiness of its onboard systems to the operations of removal into orbit and docks with the International Space Station. After the completion of the planned activities, the MS-19 Progress ship was delivered to the hall 103 and is located on the lifesters of the vacuum chamber 17T523MR. The upcoming six-day cycle of pneumatic tests using a helium-air environment in the scanned volumes will be carried out in order to quality control of the vehicle tightness in ground conditions.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier missile with the MS-19 Progress Cargo Ship under the ISS Supply Mission Program is scheduled for February 2022 from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
