Parliament of Malta approved the application of cannabis for recreational purposes. This is reported by the newspaper Times of Malta. If the law is signatured, Malta is the first in Europe legalizes marijuana.
“Tuesday, parliament approved the law on cannabis, which will allow consumers to carry with them, buy and grow drugs, which made Malta by the first European country, which introduced laws governing the use of cannabis for recreational purposes,” the article says.
The bill enables cannabis consumers on legal grounds to grow to four plants for personal purposes. It will also be allowed to carry with you to seven grams of marijuana in public places. At the same time, smoking in public places is still prohibited. In addition, the law will allow any Malta citizen who has a criminal record for the storage of cannabis, appeal it.
The document approved 36 deputies, 27 voted “against”. Now he must sign him by the President George Vella, then Malta will be the first country in Europe, where the cultivation and storage of cannabis will not be prosecuted. For example, in the Netherlands, storage, production or drug trafficking is a criminal offense, not allowed to grow cannabis or marijuana at home or anywhere else.
Earlier it was reported that the new ruling coalition in Germany plans to legalize the recreational use of cannabis. The government intends to enter the controlled distribution of cannabis among adult Germans through certified shops. According to representatives of the coalition, thus it turns out to control the quality of the selling marijuana, as well as to protect minors.
