The London High Court of Justice opened a little lane at an extradition from Julian Assange to the United States. In A judgment on appeal Rendered Friday, December 10 , she canceled the decision taken at the beginning of the year in which a first instance magistrate refused the extradition of the founder of Wikileaks.

In particular, this decision was motivated by the fragile mental health of Julian Assange, and the risk of suicide that was subject to extradition to the United States. On appeal, the Tribunal was convinced by the guarantees made by the US Government.

US guarantees convinced the court

In particular, the latter had insured during the summer the Court that if it had to be extradited, Julian Assange would not be subject to “special administrative measures”, particularly severe conditions of detention, which he would not be Not detained in Florence’s high security prison in Colorado and that if he had to be condemned, he might ask for his sentence to Australia, his native country. Arguments that had been strongly criticized by Australian lawyers and supports.

“A British court sends investigative journalism in the dark and continues the torture of Assange. The fight continues” reacted the editor-in-chief of WikiMeaks , Kristin Hrafnsson. Julian Assange’s lawyers should, unless it surprise, once again contest this decision before the British courts.

The United States claim Julian Assange for espionage facts, corresponding to the publication, in the fall of 2010 and in partnership with many media, including Le Monde, secret documents from the army and American diplomacy.
