Ancient girl Skif found Rakhit

Scientists of the Institute of History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences revealed Rakhit from the Scythian Girl who lived in the early Iron Institute. This is reported in a press release on the SDUNUKI website.rf.

Researchers studied the mummified remains of the child using microfocus radiography. It was originally believed that the body belonged to a teenager boy, as the scholars found a bow with arrows and a knife. DNA analysis and skull snapshots have shown that in fact it was a girl of seven years old. It took place from the population of cattle breeders, engaged in physical labor and early sat on the horse.

At the state of the bones, scientists found out that shortly before his death the child was sick and hungry. In addition, signs of rickets were found – disease arising from the deficiency of vitamin D and expressed in high luxury and deformation of bones. The girl elaved basically vegetable food and did not use meat and milk, but the lack of food is not associated with poverty, but can be explained by age or gender specificity.
