Poland posted posters on which the former Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel was put in one row with the Third Reich Führer Adolf Hitler and Reichscenter Propaganda Nazi Germany by Josef Goebbels. This is reported by the channel N-TV.
Similar images appeared on the streets of Warsaw on the eve of the visit to Poland a new head of the German Foreign Ministry Annala Blobok. In addition to Merkel, they also contain portraits of the ex-head of the German Foreign Minister Haiko Maas, President Frank-Walter Steinmeyer and German Ambassador in Poland Arndt Freytaga von Loringhofen. In addition, on banners, you can see calls to Berlin demanding to pay Warsaw reparations for damage caused during the Second World War, as well as the emblems of the Polish Ministry of Culture and local right nationalist media.
As N-TV notes, the action with the placement of posters, most likely passed on the initiative of the scandalous famous artist Wojca Korkuch. At the same time, funds for its holding identified the fund close to the government.
Polish authorities several years ago demanded from Germany to pay reparations for losses incurred during the war years. Since then, this question regularly rises by local politicians. So, in August, Deputy Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs Poland Pavel Jablona said that Warsaw considers the issue of compensation from Germany, and recalled that the country had a special Parliamentary Commission on this issue.
At the same time, in Germany, they emphasize that Poland refused German reparations in 1953, and it is believed that there is no reason for the decision of the Polish authorities in question.
