A little more than a third of Russians (37 percent) reacted positively to the appearance of robot judges, but in most cases citizens would like their sentence to consider a person, and not a digital algorithm. Such data are given in the survey of the Bank “Opening”, RIA Novosti reports.
about 18 percent of the respondents considered that the trial robotization would make sentences honest. Most people spoke in favor of digital justice in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (28 percent), the least – in the Far East (10 percent). At the same time, 15 percent believe that robots can only be used in civil, but not in criminal proceedings.
42 percent of Russians categorically against the replacement of judges with a digital algorithm, since in their opinion it will lead to illegal sentences. Their positions are strong in the Far East (50 percent) and the Southern Federal District (47 percent).
47 percent of respondents said that they want to consider the case of a living judge, regardless of whether they were the plaintiffs or defendants, victims or accused. 15 percent wanted to consider the robot.
Experts believe that in 2022 the robots segment expects development and growth. Doctor of Philosophy of Texas University Robin R. Murphy (Robin R. Murphy) predicted that in 2022, in many countries of the world, a full delivery of products will appear with robots. Open Robotics Manager Brian Gerkey believes that soon in the industry there will be a problem of interaction between robots from different manufacturers.
