Google will pay employees sitting at home

Google will pay 1600 dollars to employees around the world who are forced to work from the house due to the emergence of a new Omicron strain of coronavirus. As Reuters indicates, it will affect, including interns.

The representative of the company clarified that the amount is intended to support personnel during the coronavirus pandemic and will be a supplement to the allowance for working from home and other bonuses. How much money the company is going to allocate for these purposes, not reported.

Earlier in December, Google once again decided to postpone the exit of employees to offices due to the emergence of the new Omicron strain COVID-19. Another reason to postpone the exit was the reluctance of some employees to vaccinate. Before that, Google planned to return the office workers from January 10, 2022.

The main symptoms in infecting the omicron strain of coronavirus are pronounced weakness, temperature, headache, cough and decreased appetite. In Russia, the first cases of infection were confirmed in early December: the Omicron-strain of Coronavirus was revealed from two Russians who flew from South Africa.

The World Health Organization does not exclude that Omicron is able to oust other strains and in the near future half of patients in Europe will be infected with this particular option. At the same time, the organization’s specialists came to the conclusion that the infected new strain tolerate COVID-19 in easier form.
