Latvia’s security service reached “Russian spy” in parliament

Latvian legislators issued permission to the beginning of the criminal proceedings against their colleague, deputy of Janis Adamsons, the country’s security service. He is accused of espionage in favor of Russia. Information reports rus.lsm.

Adamsons worked in the Parliamentary Commission on the Defense of Latvia and had the right to attend meetings where high-ranking officials from the government voiced the information of limited access. According to the employees of the Latvian security service, he transferred this information to the Russian side. Siloviki counted more than 40 episodes of espionage with the participation of the people’s chosen one.

Security service reached Adamsons after Parliament has consent to his persecution by a majority vote. The deputy is accused of three articles of Latvia’s criminal legislation – he faces more than ten years in prison. In addition to espionage, the list of accusations includes violation of arms legislation and petty embezzlement.

Adamsons argues that there is no idea what they are accused. The media report that the deputy reported to Russia public information – amendments to the laws, information about army purchases and budget, as well as information on the situation on the eastern border of Latvia.

Almost another Latvian deputy Aldis Gobzema was detained for organizing an unauthorized rally. Gobze and his supporters oppose the forced vaccination in Latvia.
