The Budget Commission of the Sejm Latvia refused to expand the program of payments to victims of totalitarian regimes. It is reported by Telegram-channel Baltnews portal.
Commission rejected the proposal of the National Association “All for Latvia” to expand payments for the local Jewish community on other victims of totalitarianism, in particular in Latvians and Gypsy.
It is noted that such a decision was made by parliamentarians in connection with the lack of 40 million allocated payments to the appropriate payments for the distribution of the program to other categories of citizens.
Previously, the Latvian Seimas adopted a bill on the ban on the public use of St. George ribbons. The restriction will apply to entertainment and festive events, meetings, processions and pickets.
