Diplomat said that she held the first meeting as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway with Sergey Lavrov’s head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “It is important that we continue to cooperate with Russia, while the level of conflict in this part of the world has intensified,” she revealed.
Witfeldt stressed that the Oslo policy against Moscow did not change with the new Cabinet led by the working party. Among the ways of possible cooperation with the Russian side, she called fisheries and saving to the sea.
On December 3, the head of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry said that the new government of the country opposes the movements of allies Oslo on NATO near Russia’s borders and plans to limit them. “In the Norwegian interests, take care of the defense of these areas by independently, the forces of the Norwegian Armed Forces,” she concluded.
