Australia’s authorities to shoot captured approaches to parliament of rabbits

Many rabbits captured the approach to the Australian parliament in Canberre, and therefore the authorities decided to shoot a part of them. Animal invasion brings inconvenience to local residents and officials, reported ABC TV channel.

The National Capital Management (NCA) has already interviewed a number of local residents, and many of them complained to the damage that rabbits are applied. They threaten the existence of birds and insects, because plants are actively eating, and this leads to soil erosion.

Australia’s authorities have already tried to fight an increase in animal population, but these measures are not always effective. The current invasion is associated with an abundance of food in the Canberra district. Soon the part of rabbits near the parliament will shoot. Initially, NCA wanted to use poisons, but it can harm other animals: for example, predatory birds.

This is not the first case of the destruction of rabbits in Australia, which has become a real misfortune for the local ecosystem. In 2007, with rabbits in Canberra, they tried to fight a rabbit virus, but could not reduce their population.
