Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Brazil’s membership in the UN Security Council opens up new opportunities for the Russian-Brazilian dialogue. His words sounded at the opening of the meeting with the head of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry Karlus Albert Franch Francoy, reports TASS.
“new opportunities are opened due to the fact that from January 1, Brazil will be a member of the UN Security Council, and I am sure that it will add new directions to our close partnership,” said Russian minister. He also stressed that cooperation between Russia and Brazil has strategic importance.
In May 2021, Brazil President Zhair Blantar spoke about his similarity with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He noted that Russia is extremely interesting for Brazil as a country.
