Samsung has created chips for cars

samsung announced the release of two new processors and one chip created specifically for cars. This is reported on the company’s website.

Exynos Auto T5123 in the corporation was named the first in the industry to connect to an offline connection to the network after 5G. The chip is a telematic control unit 3GPP Release 15, working both in autonomous (SA) and in non-autonomous (NSA) modes. The device allows you to give data transfer speed up to 5.1 gigabit per second. In particular, thanks to the new interface, you can use high-definition video calls while driving a car.

Exynosauto V7 consists of eight ARM Cortex-A76 cores and 11 ARM MALI G76 graphics processor cores. The processor, including, is focused on installing in unmanned vehicles: it allows you to connect up to four displays and 12 inputs for cameras. The model is also characterized by the presence of an isolated security processor for cryptographic operations.

S2VPS01 microcircuit regulates and straightens the electricity flow, ensuring reliable operation of an infotainment system in the car. According to Samsung representatives, the equipment supports protection against hard thermal and electrical conditions, short circuit and overcurrent.

At the end of September, Samsung activated the function of a digital key to start cars for a number of smartphones. In particular, the support of the new method of unlocking appeared in the electric car Genesis GV60.
