In the State Duma, they wanted to challenge in the Constitutional Court (COP) cancellation of indexation of pensions. The Fraction “Fair Russia – for the truth” intends to clarify the position of the COP on this issue. This was reported by the leader of the association Sergey Mironov.
Indexing pensions to working retirees has been canceled in 2016. The deputy recalled that on July 4, 2020, amendments to the 75 article of the Constitution entered into force, providing for the indexation of pensions at least once a year. Mironov proposed to send a request to the COP to verify the provisions of the Federal Law “On Insurance Pensions”, which contains a provision for the cancellation of indexing pensions to working retirees, for compliance with the Constitution.
For a request to the COP, it is necessary to collect 90 signatures of the State Duma deputies. The Fraction “Fair Russia – for the truth” received in the State Duma of the eighth convocation of 27 mandates. “The question is sharp, topical. I hope that colleagues from other factions will be supported by us,” the Mironov said on the speech before the plenary session of the DG.
According to him, adopted in 2015 amendments to frost indexing pensions to working retirees, which have affected 7.3 million people, reduce the income of each pensioner for 11 thousand rubles annually. If the COP agrees with the arguments submitted, the deputies are obliged to cancel the prohibition of indexation, said Mironov. He reproached the government is that it does not solve the issue despite the instructions of the president to work it. “In the Cabinet it is said that there is no money for it, but they are plentiful. As they say, there would be a desire,” the politician added.
In September, the government issued a negative conclusion on the draft law of deputies from the LDPR and Senator Sergey Leonov on the indexation of pensions to working retirees. The authorities noted that indexation will require additional costs, but the source of initiative financing is not specified in justification for the document. At the end of October, the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov said that the state would primarily support those pensioners who do not have other income.
