Specialist explained that there is a system of state support for single people of pension age in the country, consisting of two parts: material and social services. The first is expressed in cash payments – compensation for the stationary telephone, targeted social assistance, payments for holidays, subsidies for utility bills, explained Grigoriev. However, the main focus in the system of supporting single pensioners is made on social accompaniment, when they are visited several times a week an employee of the social service and helps with the preparation of food or cleaning the apartment, explained Zadecan. According to her, each region can set their support systems, for example, to compensate for payment for landline telephone or assistance in the form of cash payments, providing products or things, as well as payments for holidays.
previously it became known that among Russians from the largest cities of the country, the number of those who believe that after reaching the retirement age, they will be able to live for money, which will pay the state. On average, 28 percent of respondents stated that after reaching the pension they will work and live on a salary. Almost every fourth (24 percent) is counting on public retirement, 14 percent are going to live on savings, and four more percent – on the payments of non-state pension funds.
