Chairman of the Board of Raiffeisenbank Sergey Monin in an interview with RBC called the reason for the care of foreign banks from Russia.
According to the head of the credit institution, those who do not have to do business here from the Russian market. This is due to the fact that international banks often use a centralized model of the “daughters” management in different countries, practicing “re-use of products that were initially produced for another market.”
As explained Monin, such an approach “does not allow foreign banks to become truly popular for Russian users and gain a scale” that “does not allow to make an effective entire business model.”
At the same time, according to Monin, there is no tendency to care for foreign banks, “this is entirely individual solutions adopted for each specific organization.” At the same time, he indicated that Raiffeisenbank had no such risks, because from the very beginning he used a decentralized model and produced products for the Russian market itself.
