The head of Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin predicted the deadlines for the emergence of the Internet from space in Russia. He noted that it will be allowed to receive the program “Sphere” in 2024, reports TASS.
According to the general director of the state corporation, the first funds under the program on the formation of scientific and technical nestling were obtained. In 2022, another seven billion rubles will be allocated on the “sphere”.
“These funds will go to the creation of two flight prototypes of Scythy spacecraft (Internet) and” Marathon “(Internet of Things). One of them will be launched in 2022, another – in 2023,” Rogozin clarified.
The second part of financing, according to him, will be aimed at purchasing launch vehicles to eliminate the Satellites of the “Express-RV” in 2024, which pays the Ministry of Fields.
In September, it became known that the manufacturer of the first Scythian satellite began in Russia, which, like its Starlink and OneWeb competitors, is designed for broadband Internet access. It is noted that the Scythian will enter the multifunctional satellite system “sphere”. According to the plans, the Scyth system will include 12 spacecraft located in an orbit 8070 kilometers high.
