Interrupted after a month and a half stop, the Savine site, Cité des northern districts of Marseille during rehabilitation, had to take over Thursday, November 18. The employees of a large public works company had ceased work on September 30, terrorized by the shots probably exchanged between rival bands competing for a downturn of drugs.
The workers had thrown into the open trenches to pass different networks. They had benefited ten days earlier about sensitive work awareness taught by a member of the police. The instructions had been given to them, in case of gunshots, to get away and compose the 17.
The site was not targeted but this violent episode was the drop that broke the vase. During the month of September, the dozen workers had already exercised his right of withdrawal twice. Police presence
“When we learned that the workers did not want to resume, for fear, we proposed a series of things,” says Frédérique Camilleri, prefect of police of Bouches-du-Rhône. The company wanted a police permanent security of its construction site. The authorities ensured the presence every day of a police vehicle at the opening and closing of the site and the regular coming of a CRS company.
“The CRS intervene instead in the evenings in the Marseillais cities, so off the work schedules of the company, but we proposed that their presence be advanced in the afternoon. A permanent presence as wishes Company is not possible or desirable “, ensures the prefect. In September and October, some thirty operations were conducted at the Savine by the CRS which, as a daily basis in the gangrented cities by traffic, implement a “shelling” strategy, through controls, sometimes seizures of amazing and the verbalization of consumers.

Each week, explains the latter, interventions at the request of donors are secured by the police because “in many cities Marseilles we have to deal with complicated situations.”
