New Windows 11 error caused a “blue death screen”

The Intel’s problem audio driver caused the appearance of a “blue death screen” (BSOD) on Windows 11. This is reported by the Bleeping Computer edition.

New problems are associated with the compatibility of Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) and Windows 11 version 21H2 compatibility. Intel SST works with Intel Core and Intel Atom processors for sound processing in the system. According to the complaints of the OS users, after updating the operating system from Microsoft to the version 21H2, the “blue screen of death” began to appear on computers.

Microsoft has already recognized the problem and confirmed that the appearance of the BSOD causes the driver from Intel. To avoid the emergence of new errors, the company has limited the deployment of Windows 11 update among computers running with the SST driver.

“To solve the problem, you will need to clarify the manufacturer of your device, whether the updated driver is available, and install it,” said corporation experts.

In mid-November, it became known that Microsoft will return the original color of the “death screen”. At the moment in Windows systems, a similar screen has a black color – it was installed in the OS with the output of Windows 11.
