France President Emmanuel Macron announced the need to continue the pressure on the leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to put an end to the use of migration flows on the border with Europe. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the declaration of the Elysee Palace.
The French president held talks with the President and Prime Minister of Poland, Andrzej Dudoy and Mateuschess Motheetsky, discussed the situation in the Belarusian-Polish border. Both telephone conversations were devoted to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. As reported in the Elysée Palace, Macron confirmed his full solidarity with Poland and asked his interlocutors about the development of the situation.
Also in the administration of France’s leader, they recalled that on Monday, November 15, Macron held telephone conversations with Russian colleague Vladimir Putin, during which “both presidents agreed to work on the de euscation of the migration crisis.” In this regard, Macron urged Putin to “use his influence on Alexander Lukashenko.”
Earlier, the Spokesman for the European Commission (EC) Peter Stano stated that the European Union (EU) does not intend to negotiate with Lukashenko on the situation with migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border and their further fate. He rejected both the holding and the possibility of negotiations with Lukashenko.
Since the beginning of November, a migration crisis continues on the Polish-Belarusian border. Thousands of refugees from the Middle East countries approached the borders at the border and tried to penetrate the territory of Poland and other European countries. Polish security forces had to use additional forces to keep their pressure. The European Union accused official Minsk in aggravation of the situation with migrants.
