In Austria, they were offered to stew fire in the electrocare with the help of a directional jet of water. This is reported by Asstechnica edition.
The authors of the material noted that when heating the battery, the electric vehicle has to spend a large amount of water. According to experts, the local fire department spends so much water for a month, ordinary American home ownership – in two years. Low efficiency is due to the fact that firefighters are usually extinguished by machines from the top, while in the electrocaras the battery is located below.
According to Rosenbauer engineers, they found a new safe way to extinguish electrocars. Their invention is a flat container with a fastening mechanism that must be placed under the bottom of the burning car. Then the device pierces the tanned battery with a special pin and starts to pump water through the nozzle directly into the battery.
As noted by representatives of the company to cool the battery to a safe temperature, up to a thousand gallons of water or about 3.8 thousand liters are required.
At the end of April, the general director of the company Tesla Ilon Mask revealed the details of the death of two people in Tesla. According to him, during the accident, entrusted fire, the autopilot on the car was disabled.
