Employees protest, particularly against the organization of the workload, the management methods considered daily, even “destructive”, as well as the lack of means.

Disturbances were expected on the antenna of France 24 , Thursday, November 18, due to a strike (renewable ) voted in general assembly by the employees of the international information chain. This strike, which began at midnight, is part of the continuity of several weeks of social protest, which resulted in the vote, at the beginning of the month, a motion of distrust with regard to the majority of members of management.

The presenter on Thursday morning has mentioned live “a disturbed grid” because of this social movement. Employees protest, particularly against the organization of the workload, too heavy and unrecognized, the management methods considered discouraging or even “destructive”, as well as the lack of means.

A strike notice had been filed on 12 November and a general assembly “voted by the majority of the participants maintaining the notice” Wednesday, “said the CGT of France Media World, which accompanies the organizers of the movement.

The CGT de France Media World calls “all employees and freelancers to follow it”. “Another general meeting will be held on Thursday in the afternoon”, to decide the continuation of the movement, still specifies the trade union organization. “A kitty will be set up to relieve the freelancers who will strike”, still exposes the CGT.

Motion for distrust

Among the claims, there is the “reorganization of the chain by skills and services”, the establishment of “a plan of resorption of precariousness” for the freelancers or “guarantees of a benevolent management”, lists the CGT of France Media World.

Angry employees had also organized a week’s vote a member of a part of the chain leaders denouncing “a deep degradation of [their] working conditions”.

The director of France 24, Vanessa Burggraf, acknowledged that there was “a malaise” within the writing of the information chain and that it had to “get out”, in an interview on Monday on France Inter.
