Ideal hugs last from five to ten seconds. Scientists from the University of Goldsmit came to this conclusion. They conducted a study with the participation of 48 volunteers, the results were published in the scientific journal Acta Psychologica.
Researchers wanted to find out which factors affect the perception of arms and how they are reflected in the psychological state of the person. The duration of tactile contact, the position of the hands, emotional proximity, the floor and human behavior are taken into account.
The participants of the experiment tied their eyes, and then they embraced the same person several times in a row in a row – for example, their hands were crossed differently or changed their location on the partner’s body. After they described their feelings.
As a result, the authors of the study came to find out that the most pleasant for a person will be hugs that last from five to ten seconds. At the same time, the first arms felt more awkward and less controlled than the subsequent. Also less pleasant were the arms lasting. But the method of hugs to emotional perception did not affect anyone.
Previously, American scientists called the most effective methods of flirting. The study showed that in the presence of competition to achieve the location of the partner, it is better to use such techniques as touching the chosen one, the establishment of visual contact with it, hugs and giggle over jokes.
