ECHR refused to compare quarantine with imprisonment

The ECHR refused to compare quarantine with imprisonment. “Quarantine has been applied to everyone in the state. In addition, a person could leave the house if necessary and was not deprived of social contacts,” said in generalization. According to the position of the court, the degree of restrictions during the quarantine was not strong enough to call the specified epidemiological regime by imprisonment.

According to the publication, the decision was made five months after the complaint. The Strasbourg court recognized that COVID-19 pandemic continues and may have serious consequences for the whole world, so the current situation is unpredictable.
