Estonia accused Russia in migration crisis on border of Belarus

Estonian President Alar Caris accused Russia in the migration crisis on the border of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania. He spoke in an interview with Delfi.

He declared the involvement of Moscow to what is happening in the Belarusian border and indicated that the leaders of some Western countries have already begun to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin on this issue. “Everyone came out that without Russia it could not happen. There are signs,” the caris stressed.

According to the Estonian president, negotiations with the Russian side are possible, despite the difficult relationship between the West with Moscow. He noted that international communication can go beyond the framework of political topics, and suggested “to diversify the approach to communicating with Russia.”

At the same time, Caris expressed uncertainty in the possibility of productive dialogue with Moscow in the near future. “It’s hard to guess. The whole EU froze relations with Russia, and Estonia is part of the EU. It really happens. It’s hard to predict the future, but you need to keep your ears and eyes open, and when the window will appear, we can continue relationships and cooperation,” the chapter says States.

In addition, the Estonian leader added that Tallinn will support Warsaw and Vilnius, if they ask for help in resolving the migration crisis from NATO.

The executing chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel during a telephone conversation asked Vladimir Putin to influence Minsk in connection with the current situation with migrants in the Belarusian-Polish border. It is noted that the Russian president made a proposal to establish a discussion of this problem between representatives of the EU member states and Belarus.
