According to the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany, in the Bureau of Merkel after it is removed from office, nine people will work. The salary of the head of the office and his deputy will be 10.4 thousand euros, the body financing will be provided by unused positions in the Ministry of Defense. In addition, several referents, secretaries and drivers will work at the Bureau. It is noted that the work of the offices of former chancellors and presidents is often criticized in Germany. So, in 2019, the staff of such departments was limited to five positions that are paid from the budget.

The representative of the party “Left” Gezine LzSh stated that the abundant equipment of Merkel’s office creates the impression as if she wanted to create a “shadow office”. According to her, due to this situation, suspicions arise that German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz “on the ears in debt” before Merkel.

Earlier, the Secretary General of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SDPG) Lars Klingbil called the timing of the election of the country’s chancellor. According to him, the SDPG, “green” and free democrats expect that this will happen until December 12. “From the very beginning, we had an ambitious plan, and we did not dismisted from it, we are still ambitious and expect to elect a new chancellor in the week after (saint day) Nikolaus (from December 6 to 12),” Clingbal clarified and added that immediately after that the new government will be able to start work.

On October 26, Angela Merkel presented an official notice of the end of the authority of the German Chancellor. It is assumed that this post will take the leader of the SDPG Olaf Scholz. His party won the elections from 25.7 percent of the vote on September 26. The conservative unit of the XDS / Christian Social Union (HSS) scored only 24.1 percent.
