Two-thirds of Russians (68 percent) have cars in families, and 17 percent of them are more than one. In 33 percent there is no own car, it is said in the study of the WTCIOM.
If one, who in the family had a car and who drives him, had the opportunity to use other types of transport, then half of the respondents would have moved to an electric vehicle, 35 percent on a bicycle, and 14 percent wished to use an electromopy or electroscuter.
It is also noted that in the hypothetical situation of the purchase of a machine for themselves or a family of 42 percent would have chosen an electric car, 46 percent – a car with an internal combustion engine, and five percent – neither one or another. Among the advantages of the electric vehicle, respondents called environmental friendliness (83 percent), savings on expensive gasoline (14 percent) and the fact that the electrocar is more profitable (11 percent).
Those who would choose a car with an internal combustion engine believe that it is easier to refill (36 percent) and that it is cheaper (14 percent) and more familiar (12 percent).
Since the beginning of the current year, the sale of electric vehicles in Russia jumped by 118 percent. At the same time, in absolute figures, the indicators are very small. For example, for 10 months of 2021, only 845 electric cars were sold.
