The adaptation of trades and the integration of employees with disabilities is progressing slowly in this sector with difficult working conditions.

More and more employers open their recruitment to disabled workers. More than one in four (27%) beneficiaries of the employment obligation of persons with disabilities works in the hotel-restoration, trade or transportation. But the work “in ordinary environment” is complicated to generalize.
A lot of self-censorship
Prejudice on disability are particularly pregnant in a sector of deemed difficult working conditions. “The restoration is a pressurized craft, and it is often believed that the disabled are more easily tireful, but it is nothing,” says Stéphanie Roland-Gosselin, President of the Association Access, who accompanies the young employees of the Beautiful Sparkle.

Most institutions with fewer than twenty employees, they are not subject to the obligation to employ at least 6% of disability workers, on pain of having to pay a contribution to the Fund Management Association. for the professional integration of people with disabilities. “There are about 10,000 member companies, 80% of whom have fewer than twenty employees, so do not have a disability obligation,” says Rachel Bouvard. They are therefore not recognized in the 2019 Ministry of Labor.
